Atlas Rivet Nut Installation Tools
Atlas offers a broad range rivet nut, installation tool options that include power tools, hand tools and wrench type tools. The Rivet Nut, Power Tools come in three basic types: Spin-Spin, Pull-to-Stroke and Pull-to-Pressure. The Spin-Spin tool works by running the mandrel into the rivet nut until the motor stalls. The rpm on the tool needs to be adjusted to the size of the rivet nut. The Spin-Spin tools are designed to upset the SpinTite® thin wall rivet nuts. The Pull-to-Stroke or Spin-Pull tool uses a small air motor to place the rivet nut on the mandrel. The rivet nut is then inserted into the mating hole and the trigger is pulled. The tool will axially pull the mandrel back to a pre-adjusted distance, upsetting the rivet nut. The air motor then engages in reverse to disengage and complete the installation. The Pull-to-Pressure tool is similar to the Pull-to-Stroke tool but with the addition of a pressure transducer that will sense the correct fastener installation and complete the installation cycle. These tools can install rivet nuts across the full grip range quickly and consistently.
Atlas offers a variety of Rivet Nut, hand tool options. The RIV901, RIV903, AE10 and L6000 hand tools are lever type Spin-to-Stroke installation tools. These hand tools utilize operator pressure control and feature a rear assembly knob to spin off the Rivet Nut from the application. The RIV905 hydraulic hand tool utilizes hydraulic force for installation of high-strength rivet nuts. The L-845 and L-722 wrench type hand tools are stroke tools that utilize a simple hex wrench to apply a linear pull stroke to install the rivet nut. The hand tool installation tools are used in low volume field installations, repair work or prototype applications.
