Bollhoff Rivnut® Tools
Bollhoff offers a broad range of Rivnut® installation tool options that include power tools, hand tools and wrench type tools. The Rivnut® power tools come in two basic types: Spin-to-Pressure (Spin-Spin) and Spin-to-Stroke (Spin-Pull). The Spin-to-Pressure tools thread the tool mandrel into the Rivnut by spinning it to a preset pressure that upsets the Rivnut®. It then applies a reverse spin to disengage from the Rivnut®. Available Spin-to-Pressure tools include the P1007, P2007, P2007PN, P3007 and P3007PN. The Spin-to-Stroke tools thread the tool mandrel to engage the Rivnut® and then pull back to a preset distance to upset the Rivnut®. It then applies a reverse spin to disengage from the Rivnut@. The C302 P and the P2005 are Spin-to-Stroke tools. The maximum pull force for each power tool is as follows:
Power Tools | Tool Type | Max. Pull Force |
P1007 | Spin-to-Pressure | 2,900 lbs. |
P2007/P2007PN | Spin-to-Pressure | 4,700 lbs. |
P3007/P3007PN | Spin-to-Pressure | 7,800 lbs. |
P2005 | Spin-to-Stroke | 4,700 lbs. |
C302 P | Spin-to-Stroke | 6,000 lbs. |
The Rivnut® hand tools are lever type Spin-to-Stroke installation tools. They feature a plunger rotation knob to spin on and spin off the Rivnut®. When the lever is closed by hand pressure, the tool pulls back a preset distance to upset the Rivnut. The C6000 tool is designed to upset Rivnuts and the C7000 tool is designed to upset Plusnuts®. The Rivnut® wrench type stroke tool utilizes two simple wrenches (C1000) or a hex key (C722 or C845) to apply a linear pull stroke to install the Rivnut®. The wrench type tools are used primarily for low volume field installations or product prototypes. The C1000, C722 and C845 wrench type tools can install either Rivnuts® or Plusnuts®.
