The slotted shank Rivet Nut is around body, internally threaded, blind fastener with slotted shanks. It performs as a rivet to fasten two or more materials together. It performs as a nut for the attached of a mating part with a screw. The slotted shank Rivet Nuts forms large cloverleaf-like flaps on the backside of the parent material when upset which distributes the installation and working loads over a wide area. The slotted shank Rivet Nut is also offered in a Pre-Bulbed version where the shank is partially upset to facilitate installation with torque controlled hand or power tools. Unified thread sizes of 10-32, 10-24, 1/4-20, 5/16-18 and 3/8-16 are offered. Metric thread sizes of M5, M6, M8 and M10 are also available. The Slotted Shank Rivet Nut installs in a wide variety of grip range tolerances from 0.020 to 0.500 inches and from 0.50 to 12.70 millimeters
